Black Dots—a group of early studio recordings from DC punk/reggae icons Bad Brains—is getting the reissue therapy. First recorded in 1979 at Inner Ear Studios, the compilation options early Bad Brains demos of tracks like “Pay to Cum,” “Regulator,” “Don’t Need It,” and extra.
The file will likely be accessible on restricted version white vinyl through Caroline Records beginning March 29. An ordinary, black vinyl urgent will likely be launched the next month. The reissue marks the album’s first vinyl urgent in over 20 years; it was released on vinyl in 1996. You can pre-order it here.
Bad Brains’ final studio album was 2012’s Into the Future. Revisit Pitchfork’s 2007 interview with Bad Brains.
