Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 handheld console to feature dual recessed TMR joysticks

The Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 handheld console features two TMR sticks. These sticks sit flush within the device chassis, which prevents them from snagging on clothing or pocket fabric.

Ayaneo continues to release teaser images for the console ahead of the official June 26, 2026 announcement. The latest preview highlights the side profile, showing a design that mirrors the original Pocket Micro.

Many gamers preferred the initial Pocket Micro model because it avoided tall analog sticks. Users often found sticks unnecessary for emulating older, simpler systems, and the additional hardware made the device bulky for pocket transport.

The inclusion of two recessed TMR sticks surprised some fans. Close inspection of the new imagery also reveals shoulder buttons that wrap around the corners of the console. This adjustment improves ergonomics while moving the device further away from the original Game Boy Micro aesthetic. Ayaneo might eventually release a version without sticks for users who prefer the classic layout.
