“Avengers: Endgame” is once again the highest-grossing film
Avengers: Endgame has once again ascended to the top of the all-time global box office charts. The Marvel blockbuster managed to reclaim the crown from James Cameron’s Avatar following a successful theatrical re-release.
Following its second weekend back in theaters, Endgame’s total worldwide earnings have climbed to approximately $2.926 billion, edging out Avatar’s $2.924 billion tally. The gap between these two cinematic giants now stands at just a few million dollars.
Originally released in 2019, Endgame served as the climactic conclusion to the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it briefly held the record for the highest-grossing film of all time during its initial run, it was subsequently overtaken by Avatar after the latter’s 2021 re-release.
With this latest milestone, Marvel has officially restored its flagship epic to the pinnacle of box office history.
