Assetto Corsa EVO Steps Up: Multiplayer and Improved Physics for Forza and Gran Turismo’s Main Rival
The developers of Assetto Corsa EVO have released a substantial update. The project is currently at version 0.3 and is steadily progressing toward the end of its early access period.
The headline feature is the first phase of the online mode rollout. At this stage, servers support races with up to 16 players.
Update 0.3 also brings physics improvements. The team refined tire and suspension modeling. A new suspension algorithm and an upgraded damping system now run at 1000 Hz, significantly enhancing vehicle feedback during lane changes, braking and directional shifts.
The developers have also enhanced the visuals — global illumination has been reworked and GPU workloads optimized. Audio has been upgraded as well: a new engine sound system makes car engines sound more authentic.
Nine new cars and two circuits have been added: Red Bull Ring and Circuit de Spa.
The list of cars in version 0.3:
- BMW M4 GT3 EVO
- Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2
- Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport
- Caterham Seven Academy Racer
- Dallara Stradale
- Ferrari F2004
- Audi RS 6 Avant
- BMW M3 Sport Evo (E30)
- Mercedes-Benz 190E AMG 2.5-16 Evo II
