Are We Getting a GTA 6 and NBA 2K27 Crossover?
In the latest promotional preview for NBA 2K27, scheduled for release next week on September 4, developers surprisingly bypassed the second season to tease Season 3—which appears to feature direct ties to GTA 6.
Several distinct details strongly support this upcoming crossover:
- A promotional poster showcasing the very first official artwork released for Grand Theft Auto VI;
- Ambient background audio featuring distant seagulls and wailing police sirens;
- The unmistakable Rockstar Games logo stamped onto one of the arcade cabinets;
- The exact typographical font and color palette used for the Season 3 on-screen titles.
Furthermore, one of the unlockable cosmetic outfits featured in the opening season will be an extraterrestrial ensemble bearing a striking resemblance to the Green Martian Bodysuit from GTA Online.
At present, the exact extent of the crossover content coming to the basketball simulator—or how Vice City elements will be integrated—remains under wraps. Conversely, Grand Theft Auto VI will also place a notable emphasis on basketball culture: Vice City is home to a local team known as the Narcos, and players will be able to shoot hoops and potentially engage in streetball matches (3-on-3).
It is also worth highlighting that Season 3 of NBA 2K27 is slated to run in November, perfectly aligning with the anticipated launch window of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Such a seamless collaboration between Rockstar Games and 2K Games is primarily made possible by the fact that both industry giants operate as subsidiaries under Take-Two Interactive.
