Anthony Mackie’s ‘Desert Warrior’ Gets Digital Release Date
According to WhenToStream, the historical epic Desert Warrior is set to make its digital debut on May 26.
The film features an ensemble cast including Anthony Mackie, Ben Kingsley, Aiysha Hart, and Sharlto Copley. Set in 7th-century Arabia, the story follows Princess Hind (Hart), who defies Emperor Kisra (Kingsley) by refusing to become his concubine. This act of defiance ignites a massive conflict, forcing her to flee into the desert, where she crosses paths with Hanzala (Mackie), a mysterious warrior whose legendary combat skills are soon put to the ultimate test.
Directed and co-written by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), the film faced significant challenges, grossing only $742,000 against a $150 million budget. It was also met with harsh criticism, currently holding a 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
