Ana de Armas is set to star in the upcoming psychological thriller Sweat, directed by J. Blakeson, known for his work on I Care a Lot and The 5th Wave. The film serves as a reimagining of Magnus von Horn’s acclaimed Polish-Swedish drama of the same name.
The narrative follows Emma Kent, a fitness influencer obsessed with climbing the social media ladder. Driven by a desire for digital stardom, she finally secures a meeting with her idol, Cat Highbrook. However, their encounter takes a dark turn, spiraling into a toxic relationship that threatens to destroy both women’s lives.
Production is scheduled to begin in late March, though an official premiere date has not yet been confirmed.
