German esports workforce, SK, have misplaced prize cash for violating guidelines about workforce chat throughout a tech break in a aggressive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive match.
An accompanying video, shared on Reddit, clearly reveals the workforce chatting when play was paused to resolve tech points.
Wondering what’s new in CS:GO? Here’s the latest changes to the world’s best FPS.
Replying to the thread that asks if it’s permissible for groups to talk throughout tech pauses, ESL staffer “crtmN” confirms: “It is just not allowed to speak (or chat) throughout a technical pause as written in our guidelines. The admin caught it shortly and advised the workforce to cease instantly.
“Due to the violation of the foundations the workforce will get penalized which is able to result in a prize cash deduction.”
crtmN later clarifies the funds will probably be “redistributed” to the opposite groups.
While groups are allowed to speak throughout tactical timeouts, when there’s a tech problem which will prohibit a workforce from speaking to one another, the opposite workforce, too, is just not permitted to speak to keep away from an unfair benefit.
“It’s not fair that one team can talk tactics and the other team has to deal with tech issues in the meantime,” crtmN adds in the comments.
