ATS California Rework: bridges and truck stops in Phase 2

On 7 March 2022, SCS Software previewed new work from Phase 2 of the California Rework for American Truck Simulator. The post focused on river and bay crossings, interchanges, toll points and large truck stops rather than announcing a separate paid expansion.

SCS showed the I-580 and US-101 junction near San Rafael, the Russian River Bridge south of Ukiah, CA-37 and several distinctive crossings around the San Francisco Bay area. The examples included the Carquinez Bridge on I-80 and the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge on I-580.

The team also highlighted the TA Travel Center in Redding and the Sacramento 49er Travel Plaza. Roads and scenery around Redding and Truckee were rebuilt so the original California map would better match the scale and detail of newer ATS states.

Release with update 1.44

The March article was a work-in-progress showcase. Phase 2 arrived on 10 May 2022 with ATS update 1.44. It reworked Eureka, Redding, Sacramento, Truckee, Ukiah and surrounding roads. San Rafael remained as a scenery location after the rebuild rather than a standalone job destination.
