American Pie star Tara Reid was taken to hospital from a Rosemont hotel — the 50-year-old actress was reportedly in an incoherent state. A medic had to seat her in a wheelchair because Reid was unable to move on her own.
Soon after, the celebrity addressed the incident herself. Tara believes someone staying at the hotel may have drugged her. Shortly after checking in she went to the bar and ordered a drink; she stepped outside briefly to smoke, and when she returned her glass was covered with a napkin.
After finishing the drink she fell ill and then experienced a complete blackout. Reid says she does not remember what she did, how she behaved, or why she ended up in hospital. Witnesses reported that she loudly confronted staff, insisting she was a well-known actress.
Police are currently investigating the matter. Reid has previously struggled with substance-related issues.
