AI Claude Opus 5.5 Surpasses GPT-6 Astra in Unreal Engine Game Development
Claude Opus 5.5 can independently create a game with modern indie graphics in Unreal Engine within 60 to 120 minutes, using just a single text prompt without any subsequent edits.
AI capabilities for independently building games in Unreal Engine were recently tested again, and Claude Opus 5.5 outperformed GPT-6 Astra across every test in an experiment conducted by YouTube creator Brendan Jowett.
After 60 to 120 minutes of work, Claude Opus 5.5 generates visuals that resemble modern indie games sold on the PS Store or Steam. The cost of using Opus 5.5 for two hours, during which the AI independently creates 3D models in Blender, is approximately $60 to $70. Subscriptions are cheaper, making them comparable to GPT-6 Astra.
According to the experiment’s creator, such capabilities could accelerate game development, especially given that many AAA projects take five to six years to produce.
“Opus delivers results a million times better than Astra, with much better graphics. (…) All of this is the result of just a single prompt. If you spent at least a weekend or one week, the results would be even better.”
