Adult Swim has introduced it has partnered with Alcon Television Group and Crunchyroll to supply a brand new anime sequence set within the Blade Runner universe. “Blade Runner — Black Lotus” will span 13 episodes and be directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama. Shinichiro Watanabe of “Cowboy Bebop” and “Samurai Champloo” fame has been tapped as inventive producer. A press launch states that the brand new sequence “will happen in 2032 and can embody some acquainted characters from the Blade Runner universe.”
“I first noticed Blade Runner in 1982, at age 11. It has remained one of many defining movies of my life,” Adult Swim SVP/Creative Director Jason DeMarco stated within the press launch. “ To be able to explore more of this universe, with the incredible talent we have on board, is a dream come true.”
Blade Runner 2049, the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 seminal Blade Runner, was launched final yr. A brief animated movie titled Blade Runner Black Out 2022, directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, was launched final yr. It featured a rating by Flying Lotus.
