Casting Revealed for the Four Wives in Sam Mendes’s Four‑Film Beatles Event

The ensemble cast joining Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Barry Keoghan and Joseph Quinn has been announced.

Producers have announced the actresses who will portray the principal partners of The Beatles across the ambitious four‑film series from director Sam Mendes.

Saoirse Ronan has been cast as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai will play Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood is set to portray Pattie Boyd, and Mia McKenna‑Bruce will take on the role of Maureen Starkey.

They join the ensemble playing the band members themselves: Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.

“Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,”

— Sam Mendes

The project comprises four separate films, each told from the viewpoint of a different Beatle, which will interweave to tell the group’s complete story. The series is slated to begin its theatrical rollout in April 2028.

These productions mark the first time The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have formally authorized scripted films that use the band members’ life stories and music. Sony Pictures is financing the films and will handle distribution.
