On a distant alien planet, an enormous cylinder is rolling throughout the floor and crushing every part in its path. Were this Earth, we’d welcome our redeemer. But in The Eternal Cylinder, we’ll play a wee critter fleeing the curler, gobbling up vegetation and beasties to achieve skills aiding our escape. Also, it’s so gloriously strange-looking, simply as I’d anticipate from ACE Team, the Chilean studio behind Zeno Clash and The Deadly Tower Of Monsters. Yes, 4 years after first whispering about this cylinder (previously often known as The Endless Cylinder), they now say they’re really ending it for a 2020 launch. Come watch this excellent factor.

It regarded thrilling in 2015 however they weren’t fairly certain what kind it might take. Now they know. The Endless Cylinder is an “open-world survival adventure game,” the launch announcement says, and we’ll be in cost of a complete load of these critters. Oh no, I’m not prepared for accountability.
“Your Trebhums begin at the bottom of the natural food chain but can mutate and evolve with new physical attributes and abilities by eating a variety of flora and fauna. Discover and adapt dozens of mutations, including new traversal skills like flying and swimming to reach new areas, and new senses to help overcome puzzles, challenges and dangers. Your many Trebhums can each have different mutations, and new mutations don’t replace ones you already have, letting you stack ability sets in dynamic ways. Each mutation will also change the physical look of a Trebhum and stacking these will generate near countless surprising new creature designs which players will be able to organically discover as they explore this unique alien ecosystem.”
Apparently the world is procedurally-generated too, meant to mix with the AI ecosystem and such to make it change on repeat playthroughs.
The Endless Cylinder is because of debut in 2020 on the Epic Games Store as a timed unique. The common Epic deal would imply it’ll be capable of launch on different shops in 2021. It’s printed by Good Shepherd Entertainment, who would doubtless be the parents making retailer selections.
