About GTA: The Voice of a Character from GTA 3 Has Fallen Silent Forever
Yesterday, at the age of 67, the famous actor Michael Madsen passed away. He was known to movie lovers for films like “Reservoir Dogs” (1992), “Donnie Brasco” (1997), “Kill Bill” (2004), “Sin City” (2005), and “The Hateful Eight” (2015), among over 300 other works. Reports indicate that death occurred naturally due to cardiac arrest.
Additionally, he was well-known to video game enthusiasts, having voiced characters in several projects like True Crime: Streets of LA (2003), Driver 3 (2004), Dishonored (2012), Crime Boss: Rockay City (2023), and others. His most famous virtual role was in GTA 3 (and consequently, its “definitive edition”) where Madsen voiced Toni Cipriani, one of the bosses on the first island.
However, not in GTA: Liberty City Stories, where Toni is the main character. There, the role was taken by Danny Mastrogiorgio. The reason being that over time, the developers ceased collaboration with Hollywood stars. Nevertheless, this didn’t prevent honoring the person who brought to life one of Liberty City’s most colorful criminals.
