’28 Years Later’ Sequel Receives Rave Reviews from Critics

Initial reviews for the horror follow-up 28 Years Later: Temple of Bone have surfaced online. The film is scheduled to hit theaters this week, with its premiere set for January 16.

At the time of writing, Temple of Bone boasts an impressive 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviewers have highlighted the film’s “bleak and immersive” atmosphere, while also praising the standout performances of Jack O’Connell and Ralph Fiennes.

The plot picks up the journey of Spike (Alfie Williams), the teenage protagonist from last year’s 28 Years Later. The story follows him as he becomes entangled with a mysterious cult led by Jimmy Crystal (O’Connell), only to find himself once again at the epicenter of the Rage Virus outbreak.

The film was directed by Nia DaCosta (The Marvels) and written by Alex Garland. Notably, Cillian Murphy—the star of the original 28 Days Later—makes a cameo appearance in the project.
