2020’s most cinematic action game is now heavily discounted on PS5

While 2020 might have been an exhausting year for everyone, it was undeniably a banner year for gaming. That year gave us a collection of modern classics, including Hades, The Last of Us Part 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Sucker Punch’s breathtaking epic, Ghost of Tsushima. Set during the Mongol conquest of 13th-century Japan, the game was a massive critical success, securing nine nominations at The Game Awards and walking away with top honors for Art Direction and Player’s Voice.

Right now, as part of the PlayStation Store’s Big Games, Big Deals promotion, you can snag the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut at a deep discount. The PS4 edition has been slashed to $19.79 (down from $59.99), while the PS5 version—which maintains full backward compatibility for PS4 owners—is currently just $29.39.

The Director’s Cut, which launched in 2021, builds upon the original foundation with several essential refinements. Players can enjoy enhanced frame rates and resolution, specialized haptic feedback for the DualSense controller, immersive 3D audio, and significantly faster load times. Most importantly, it features the hauntingly beautiful Iki Island expansion, where Jin Sakai must confront the ghosts of his past while investigating a fresh Mongol threat.
