007 First Light Outsells Forza Horizon 6 to Top US Charts
The spy thriller 007 First Light by IO Interactive topped the US sales charts in May 2026, beating Forza Horizon 6.
A Circana report identifies 007 First Light as the top-selling game in the United States for May 2026. The James Bond title outperformed four other major releases during the same period, pushing Forza Horizon 6 into second place.
Comparing the two games requires caution. Forza Horizon 6 launched on PC and Xbox Series X/S with immediate access through Xbox Game Pass. In contrast, 007 First Light released as a premium title across multiple platforms, which likely influenced the sales volume.
The US gaming market saw slight growth in May 2026. Spending on software reached 3.8 billion dollars, a one percent increase compared to the previous year. Year-to-date, software spending is up 25 percent. Hardware sales trends moved in the opposite direction, as consumer demand for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S declined.
Other shifts in the monthly rankings include Tomodachi Life dropping from first to fifth place. Crimson Desert also fell, moving from the third spot down to seventh.
