007 First Light Gets Performance Mode on Xbox Series S
A 60 FPS mode has arrived on the Xbox Series S for 007 First Light through a free update, though the trade-off for the smoother framerate is a noticeable drop in image quality and effects.
007 First Light received its 60 FPS mode on the Xbox Series S via a free update, though developers had to lower graphic quality to achieve the smoother picture.
The performance mode was added quietly. The patch notes for the latest major content update contained an error that mistakenly attributed 60 FPS support to the more powerful Xbox Series X. As a result, the new feature was only discovered after players conducted their own tests and published technical analyses.
On the Xbox Series S, the framerate fluctuates between 50 and 60 FPS during dynamic scenes, and image quality and individual effects have been visibly reduced. A display with VRR support is recommended for a more comfortable gameplay experience.
