Zola Jesus has shared a brand new EP of remixes by Johnny Jewel of Chromatics. It collects completely different takes on two songs from Zola Jesus’ 2017 album Okovi—“Ash to Bone” and “Wiseblood”—and acts as a “nod to the maxi singles of the 1980s,” in response to a press launch. A vinyl launch is due out January 25, 2019 through Sacred Bones and Italians Do It Better. Listen to the EP beneath.
Johnny Jewel’s remix of “Wiseblood” seems on the soundtrack to the movie Beautiful Boy, starring Timothée Chalamet and Steve Carrel. The soundtrack additionally contains Sampha’s new music “Treasure.” Recently, Zola Jesus shared a remix for Zedd and Maren Morris’ hit “The Middle.”
