Zoe Kravitz Applauds Best Friend Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Album: ‘No Skips’

Zoe Kravitz, a longtime confidante of Taylor Swift, was among the inaugural listeners to Swift’s upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl.

During a conversation with Extra alongside co-star Austin Butler to promote their film Caught Stealing, Kravitz confirmed that Swift’s record more than justifies the buzz it has generated in the six days since its announcement. “I’ve heard snippets of it,” she revealed.

“It’s phenomenal,” she enthused. “Not a single filler track.”

When reminded that albums without skips are “uncommon,” Kravitz quipped, “For Taylor, that’s standard.”

As the Batman alum and Swift have shared a close friendship for years, Kravitz is practically a seasoned aficionado of Swift’s music. In fact, she co-wrote the opening track of Midnights, “Lavender Haze.”

Their bond proved its strength during the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year when Kravitz and her mother, Lisa Bonet, evacuated to one of Swift’s residences. In a memorable mishap, Bonet’s pet snake, Orpheus, slipped into the singer’s bathroom cabinets, prompting Swift’s house manager to dismantle the fixtures to rescue the reptile.

“We pretty much dismantled her bathroom,” Kravitz recalled on Late Night With Seth Meyers on August 12. “I thought, ‘Either I tear this place apart, or I confess there’s a snake lurking somewhere.’ When I called Taylor, I nervously said, ‘I need to tell you something,’ and she immediately responded, ‘Let me guess: you almost lost a snake in my house and wrecked my bathroom?’”

Kravitz’s praise comes shortly after Swift announced that her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, is set for release on October 3. Produced by Max Martin and Shellback, the 12-track collection features a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter.

On the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce, Swift described The Life of a Showgirl as “an electrifying pop spectacle,” adding, “My goal was to create melodies so irresistible, you’ll almost resent how catchy they are.”
