Released on Friday, Jan. 9, the album’s most evocative track is arguably “Skin.” In this barbed composition, Bryan seemingly addresses an ex-partner through references to shared body art. LaPaglia is known for her “How lucky are we?” tattoo—a phrase Bryan famously woven into his 2024 track “28” and one that he reportedly mirrored with his own matching ink.

As the curtain closed on 2025, Bryan entered a new chapter by marrying Samantha Leonard. On the track “Slicked Back,” Bryan appears to contrast his new life with his former one, crooning, “Used to know some folks who put it all online, but you paint landscapes in the evening time.”

While LaPaglia has refrained from making a formal statement on Bryan’s nuptials, she recently shared a TikTok featuring Taylor Swift’s “Mastermind.” Fans quickly interpreted the post as a subtle jab at her ex’s swift move to the altar, with many followers praising her for “saying everything while saying nothing.”

Despite Bryan’s lyrical intent to “take a blade” to his tattoos, LaPaglia has no intentions of erasing the past. In a November 2024 video, she clarified her stance on the matching ink: “I see a lot of people being like, ‘Well, now I have to get my ‘How lucky are we?’ tattoo removed.’ That was my thing.
