NEON is launching an awards campaign for Yura Borisov, positioning the Russian actor as a contender for “Best Actor” at the Oscars and other prestigious ceremonies for his performance in the upcoming film Artificial Intelligence.
Meanwhile, the film’s lead, Andrew Garfield, will be campaigned in the supporting category. The movie explores the story of OpenAI co-founder and ChatGPT architect Sam Altman (Garfield), with Borisov portraying Ilya Sutskever, the company’s former chief scientist.
The ensemble cast also features Monica Barbaro, Cooper Hoffman, Ike Barinholtz, and Mark Rylance. Directed by Luca Guadagnino (known for Challengers and Suspiria), the film celebrated its world premiere tonight at the New York Film Festival.
Volga will handle the theatrical release of Artificial Intelligence in Russia, with the specific release date to be announced soon. Borisov previously garnered significant acclaim, receiving nominations for the 2025 Oscars and Golden Globes for his role in Anora.
The 99th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled for March 14, 2027, with the official nominations set to be revealed on January 21.
