“Young Thug As Paintings” is an Instagram account by artist Hajar Benjida that juxtaposes images of Young Thug with historic work. The account started in 2016 as a college mission for Benijda. Now, that mission goes to Miami’s annual Art Basel as a part of the SCOPE Miami Beach set up. Thug’s document label Young Stoner Life is sponsoring the exhibition together with 300 Entertainment. It’s set to run December 4-9.
In a press release, Benjida wrote, “I jokingly answered an interview question with ‘I hope to discuss renaissance paintings with Thug someday.’ One-and-a-half years later and I’m bringing my project to life together with Young Thug himself.” Find extra particulars in regards to the set up here.
