Yola Tests Positive for COVID-19, Cancels Two Shows

Yola has canceled two upcoming concerts after revealing she has tested positive for COVID-19. Those shows include her appearances at Summerfest Friday (Sept. 3) in Milwaukee, Wis., and at Jazz Aspen Snowmass in Aspen, Colo., on Sunday (Sept. 5).

On Sept. 3, a member of Yola’s team issued a statement via social media, saying, “Unfortunately, Yola has tested positive for COVID-19 this morning. She is fully vaccinated, feeling ok with only mild symptoms at this time. However, she will no longer be able to perform at Summerfest in Milwaukee today or at Jazz Aspen Snowmass on Sunday. We will keep you all posted on how she is doing ASAP.”

On July 30, Yola released the album Stand for Myself on the Easy Eye Sound label. The project’s “Diamond Studded Shoes” peaked at No. 21 on Billboard‘s Triple A Airplay chart in July.

According to her official site, Yola has upcoming shows slated for Sept. 11 at Moon River Music Festival in Chattanooga, Tenn.,  Sept. 12 at Terrapin Beer Co. in Athens, Ga., and Sept. 16 at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, Mo., among other upcoming performance dates.

Yola is the latest musician to announce canceled shows after a positive coronavirus test. Rockers Kiss recently postponed concerts twice after frontman Paul Stanley first tested positive, then bassist Gene Simmons days later. K-pop stars ENHYPEN also nixed a scheduled show after five of its members contracted COVID-19, while Korn canceled two shows after frontman Jonathan Davis tested positive.
