XG to Release Debut Album Three Years After Debut, Reveals Release Date

After years of eager anticipation, XG has confirmed that their maiden studio album will arrive soon. The Japanese septet announced on Tuesday, September 2 that their first full-length record is scheduled for release in early 2026, with the lead single set to precede the album by several months.

An ethereal, sci-fi–inspired teaser reveals that JURIN, CHISA, HINATA, HARVEY, JURIA, MAYA and COCONA will unveil the LP on January 23, 2026. In the clip, a mesmerizing motif repeats the line, “Everything you do,” hinting at the album’s thematic core.

Before the album’s arrival, the R&B/hip-hop collective will drop their first single, “GALA,” on September 19. Touted as a “high-octane, runway-ready anthem fueled by futuristic production and vivid visuals,” the song fuses assertive rap verses, bilingual vocals, propulsive house rhythms and bold synth layers to create “X GALA,” a visionary reimagining of a high-fashion gala through XG’s signature lens.

Devoted fans know this milestone has been in the making. Since debuting with “Tippy Toes” in March 2022, the group released the mini-album New DNA in September 2023, followed by Awe in November 2024.

Over the past three years, XG has expanded their global following with electrifying live sets and festival appearances, including a performance at Coachella earlier this year and a headlining slot at Japan’s a-nation in August. As trailblazers of the self-styled “X-pop” genre, they’ve maintained a close-knit camaraderie even as their star has risen.

“Our uniqueness lies in our ability to transcend conventions and boundaries,” JURIN told Soy Kim for XG’s Billboard cover feature in 2023. “At the same time, the bond we share overcomes any challenge, and that unity is truly remarkable.”
