Xbox Lacks Exclusive GTA 6 Streaming Rights and PC Skips Cloud Version
Xbox did not secure exclusive streaming rights for GTA VI, and the game will not launch via cloud on PC on November 19, 2026, according to Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball.
Tom Warren, a journalist for The Verge, previously reported that Microsoft had allegedly agreed on exclusive streaming rights for GTA VI. At launch, Xbox Cloud Gaming was supposed to be the only service allowing users to run Rockstar’s game in the cloud. According to Warren’s sources, the report stemmed from a statement by Xbox head Asha Sharma, who promised employees something that “no other platform owner does.”
However, Matthew Ball called these reports mistaken:
Glad to see such interest in GTA VI and Xbox, but it has also led to some mistaken reports. We look forward to launching GTA VI on Xbox on November 19, although the game will not be available for exclusive streaming and will not be streamed to PC.

GTA 6 will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, while a PC version has not yet been officially announced. Journalist Jez Corden suggests that the game might not be available via streaming services at all at launch.
