Xbox Head Highlights Minecraft Player Growth 17 Years After Release
Minecraft continues to delight long-time fans while consistently attracting newcomers.
Mojang Studios recently hosted a Minecraft presentation showcasing a new franchise project alongside the first new dimension in 15 years, an icy biome, and a unique type of zombie.
Chief Executive Officer Asha Sharma took the opportunity to share some metrics for Minecraft. According to her, the block-based sandbox continues to draw a massive number of players every single day after more than 17 years:
On average, more than 300,000 people play Minecraft for the very first time every day. After more than 17 years and over 425 million copies sold, I am thrilled that Minecraft is still finding new players and offering longtime fans something fresh to explore.

Mojang Studios and Double Eleven are currently preparing for the release of the action RPG Minecraft Dungeons II, which is scheduled to launch on September 29. Players will journey through various locations and battle hordes of mobs.
You can add Minecraft Dungeons II to your Steam wishlist via the following link. The game will be available on PC as well as Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch consoles.
