World of Warcraft Gets Cozier: Home Decoration Feature Coming in 2025

The Midnight expansion will introduce personal space decoration to the game, bringing player housing similar to other MMOs. During the Midnight Deep Dive presentation, Blizzard confirmed the feature will arrive in early access before the end of the year.

Fans of customization in MMORPGs will have another reason to return to WoW. The prior absence of this mechanic made the game less competitive with Final Fantasy XIV and The Elder Scrolls Online. Developers say the new system will form a core pillar of the game and will receive its own “roadmap”.

World of Warcraft: Midnight is scheduled for release in 2026, though an exact date has not been announced. Players who pre-order will be able to set up their sanctuary starting December 3, receiving a starter set of decorations. There will effectively be two sanctuaries: one for the Horde and one for the Alliance.

Decorations can be acquired from vendors, earned through events and achievements, or crafted by players. Those who do not pre-order will still be able to decorate their homes after the official launch.

The game will feature themed items for Blood Elves and Night Elves, Humans and Orcs. Players can decorate both the interior and exterior of their sanctuary. Objects can be rotated, resized, and fine-tuned using an advanced customization mode.

Players will be able to share their creations: other users’ homes can be visited as part of neighborhoods, and the developers have prepared additional activities to take place within sanctuaries.
