Woody Guthrie Lost Song Surfaces After 64 Years: Listen

A misplaced Woody Guthrie recording from 1954 has surfaced and was shared right this moment by Variety. The tape of Guthrie, Sonny Terry, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliott performing “Hoodoo Voodoo” was found within the Shel Silverstein Archive. Its authenticity was verified by the Woody Guthrie Archive. Wilco and Billy Bragg recorded the music on their 1998 album Mermaid Avenue, which featured new recordings and interpretations of beforehand unrecorded Guthrie songs.
