James Cameron’s “Avatar: Fire and Ash” emerged as the undisputed champion of the 2026 VES Awards, held on February 25 at the Beverly Hilton. The visionary sci-fi epic dominated the ceremony, securing seven accolades, including the prestigious award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photorealistic Feature.

The latest journey to Pandora also garnered trophies for its groundbreaking character design, innovative technological advancements, and exceptional virtual cinematography. Furthermore, the film was recognized for its sophisticated simulation effects and the creation of immersive, photorealistic environments.

In the animation categories, the hit “K-Pop Demon Hunters” made a significant impact, walking away with three awards. It was honored for its overall visual effects, intricate simulation work, and standout character animation.

Meanwhile, the acclaimed drama and Oscar contender “Sinners” earned a victory in the category of Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photorealistic Feature, proving that even subtle digital artistry can leave a lasting impression.
