Rumors regarding a Switch 2 version have circulated since late 2025 and resurfaced through leaker Nash Weedle. He claims developers have resolved the main technical hurdles for the port. External specialists, experienced in bringing major titles to Nintendo hardware, are reportedly assisting with the project.
Technical constraints pose a challenge because GTA VI ranks among the most demanding games of this generation. A version for the Switch 2 would likely feature lower resolution, simplified graphics, and other performance adjustments.
Rockstar Games and Nintendo have not confirmed these reports. Players anticipate the game heavily, and many view a release on PC and the Nintendo Switch 2 as a long-term possibility rather than an immediate plan.
