Wilco and outside life-style model Best Made Co. have teamed up for a new collection. Chief among the many gadgets is a new box set that comprises all 10 of Wilco’s studio albums (signed by Jeff Tweedy). According to the Best Made catalog, the field set is “made with fir ply and a birch handle then finished by hand with marine spar varnish. Each box is laser-engraved and embossed with Best Made and Wilco’s logos and includes a back compartment to hold the limited-edition Wilco pennant and bandana as part of the ensemble.”
Another notable piece within the assortment is a painted American felling axe, impressed by the egg on the duvet of Wilco’s 2004 file A Ghost Is Born. That egg was designed by Best Made founder Peter Buchanan Smith, who gained the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Recording Package for his work. To have a good time the gathering, Best Made Co. is internet hosting an intimate performance by Wilco guitarist Nels Cline at its Tribeca, New York retailer on October 18. Cline can even give a guitar lesson through the occasion. Proceeds go towards Doctors Without Borders.
