For the first time in a lengthy career, Weezer has two straight No. 1s on Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart.
“All My Favorite Songs,” the lead single from Weezer’s album OK Human, rises 2-1 on the survey dated July 24. It follows the one-week reign of the band’s “Hero” last August.
The group notches its sixth Alternative Airplay No. 1, dating to its first, “Beverly Hills,” in July 2005. Weezer has charted at the format since 1994, when “Undone – The Sweater Song” peaked at No. 6 that August, marking the band’s first of 19 top 10s.
After “Beverly Hills,” Weezer led Alternative Airplay with “Perfect Situation” (four weeks, 2006), “Pork and Beans” (11 weeks, 2008) and “Africa” (three weeks, 2018), prior to its first set of back-to-back No. 1s. The band has earned half its six No. 1s since 2018, and each of Weezer’s last seven singles has hit the chart’s top 10, a career-best streak for the act, dating to “Feels Like Summer” (No. 2, August 2017).
“All My Favorite Songs” is additionally Weezer’s first multi-radio format No. 1. It ruled Adult Alternative Airplay for three weeks in April, becoming the band’s first leader on the list.
On the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, “All My Favorite Songs” returns to its No. 2 high, up 24% to 6.4 million audience impressions, according to MRC Data.
