We 100% completed Hollow Knight: Silksong using a saxophone instead of a controller

While some lament the game’s trials, others are completing it with unconventional controllers.

After the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the web filled with complaints about its “very high” difficulty. By late September, however, a number of players had begun to show they could nimbly tackle Team Cherry’s latest on unusual hardware.

Streamer and musician DrDoot, a veteran saxophonist, has previously demonstrated his gaming talent during an Elden Ring run — and he has now taken on Silksong.

DrDoot substituted an electronic saxophone for a traditional controller, mapping specific notes to in-game actions.

In the 100% Hollow Knight: Silksong playthrough, the streamer spent roughly 92 hours completing the game using the saxophone.
