Watch the First Gameplay of the New Virtua Fighter

Sega has released the inaugural gameplay teaser for New Virtua Fighter Project, the tentative title for the franchise’s sixth installment. While the clip eschews dramatic presentation, it highlights the series’ signature blend of smooth animations and intricate combat mechanics.

Debuting at EVO 2025, the straightforward teaser features a one-on-one training session between two fighters, offering a glimpse of the refined hit detection and responsive controls that devotees have come to expect. Though details remain scarce, the video concludes with a promise of additional information at the Tokyo Game Show this September.

New Virtua Fighter Project first surfaced last December during The Game Awards, but Sega has yet to confirm a release window or specify which platforms will receive the next entry in this storied fighting series.
