Standing on the Corner have launched a brand new visible challenge titled “The Atmosphere Phased at 120º and Went Blank When the Universe Collapsed.” The mysterious, psychedelic movie options appearances from Solange, Earl Sweatshirt, Terence Nance, and extra. It was dwell streamed on their website earlier right this moment, and it’s scheduled to re-broadcast at 7pm and 12am EST.
During the hour-long presentation, Solange sings a portion of Diana Ross’ “Believe in Yourself” from The Wiz and speaks in regards to the music. Earl additionally delivers some pitch-shifted spoken phrase. Elsewhere, the challenge includes all kinds of monologues, music samples, and located footage.
Of the challenge, Standing on the Corner’s Gio Escobar stated: “[it] concentrates on parallel dimensions and a proposed form of new psychiatry that centers the Black experience… i want to maintain and assert that this project is not to be understood as an album or ‘music’ that can function without the visual; it is only whole together and should be considered something more like an exploration….”
