On “Saturday Night Live” final evening, the present devoted a debate skit to Weezer. In it, Matt Damon and Leslie Jones, new neighbors after the latter strikes into the neighborhood, have interaction in an intense back-and-forth dialogue in regards to the band throughout dinner. Damon, a superfan, begins the dialog by getting excited that the discharge date for his or her upcoming LP Weezer: The Black Album was introduced. Jones responds, “I’m just a bit confused as a result of Weezer followers know they haven’t launched a superb album since Pinkerton in ’96.” Check out the sketch beneath.
The two proceed to commerce their ideas in regards to the group. “Why do not you develop the hell up and take heed to Ratitude and Pacific Daydream. You simply don’t perceive what Rivers goes by proper now,” Damon says. “Rivers doesn’t understand what Rivers is going through though,” Jones retorts. As the dialog escalates, private insults start to fly. The argument wraps up with one ultimate forwards and backwards. “Weezer died when Matt Sharp left,” Jones says. “Weezer didn’t start until Scott Shriner got there,” Damon responds.
Weezer’s new LP, The Black Album, is out on March 1 (by way of Crush/Atlantic). The album will embody the beforehand launched singles “Zombie Bastards” and “Can’t Knock the Hustle.” Their final LP, Pacific Daydream, got here out in 2017.
