As she promotes her newest single, “The Dead Dance,” Lady Gaga made a playful detour to Greenwich Village to teach Stephen Colbert the choreography. In a recent Instagram reel shared by Gaga and the Late Show team, the pair recreate the post-chorus steps at The Bitter End — the intimate club where Gaga first began performing — producing an affectionate, off-the-cuff moment when Colbert, wearing a bonnet, feigns choking and sends Gaga into laughter.

The short clip, posted to Instagram, shows the comedian and the pop star moving through the routine created by choreographer Parris Goebel. Gaga’s caption teased that more is on the way: “Interview coming soon,” she wrote alongside a skull emoji.

The choreography features prominently in Gaga’s cinematic video for “The Dead Dance,” which Tim Burton directed and shot at Isla de las Muñecas (the “Island of the Dolls”) in Xochimilco, Mexico. Since its release, the video has attracted major attention online.

Gaga’s Instagram tease follows a string of recent live highlights for the artist: a stripped-down appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in which she covered her Mayhem track “Vanish Into You,” a live debut of “The Dead Dance” at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, and dates on her expanded The Mayhem Ball world tour.
