Jamila Woods has shared a video for a brand new tune titled “Giovanni.” The video, which she co-directed with Vincent Martell, options her household. The observe was impressed by poet and activist Nikki Giovanni and references her 1970s poem “Ego Tripping.” In a press launch, Woods mentioned, “‘Giovanni’ is a song about owning & celebrating all the parts of myself. “Giovanni” follows Jamila Woods’ 2016 solo debut HEAVN, which featured Chance the Rapper, Saba, Kweku Collins, and others. Last 12 months, she shared the video for “LSD” that includes Chance. Its therapy was created by Chicago highschool then-senior Ashley Huicochea, who received Woods and Chance’s contest to make the visual.
