Watch Gracie Abrams Cover the Taylor Swift Song She Wishes She’d Written

At her Los Angeles show on Thursday, August 7, Gracie Abrams surprised fans by performing a non-original track—yet the crowd echoed every lyric with effortless precision.
Midway through her Secret of Us Tour set at the Kia Forum, the singer-songwriter delighted attendees with a full rendition of Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well (10 Minute Version).” Before launching into the song, Abrams offered a warm acknowledgment of her friend and former tourmate: “I spoke with her earlier today,” she shared, nodding to Swift.
Reflecting on their shared journey, Abrams added, “It’s humbling to remember that so many of us first connected through the Eras Tour with Taylor. I still find myself longing for that experience—and I know you do, too. If you’ve got ten minutes, I’d like to sing a song I’ll forever wish I’d written.”
Backed by the roar of the audience, the California native navigated every verse, bridge and haunting outro of Swift’s record-setting hit, accompanying herself on a crimson keyboard at center stage. “Maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much,” she sang, her voice weaving seamlessly through the fans’ passionate chorus.
This surprise performance arrived roughly eight months after Swift concluded her two-year Eras Tour last December, during which Abrams opened the final North American leg. She also supported the 14-time Grammy winner at several shows when the tour launched in 2023.
Touring together forged a close bond between Abrams and Swift, culminating in their collaboration “Us,” featured on Abrams’s breakout album, The Secret of Us.
In an April cover story for Billboard, Abrams told writer Hannah Dailey that Swift’s friendship has kept her grounded amid her own rise: “I’m grateful I don’t face the same level of scrutiny she endures. Observing her journey has helped me maintain perspective.”
Abrams now nears the conclusion of her Secret of Us headlining tour, with five dates remaining before the trek wraps on August 27 in Mexico City.
