Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig shared rehearsal footage of a canopy of “Little Drummer Boy” on Christmas night time. Squint on the video and you could make out the fuzzy outlines of Haim members, as Stereogum suggests. Watch their rendition beneath.
In the caption, Koenig writes:
A late night time jam session in honor of the prince of peace. “Little Drummer Boy” is a high 3 Christmas track imho. Imagine that you just come to see the messiah and he’s been given all kinds of regal presents like frankincense and myrrh. All it’s important to give is…a drum solo. You solely get one shot. Do not miss your likelihood to blow. This alternative comes as soon as in a lifetime. You wail on the snare for a stable 20 minutes. Paradiddles upon paradiddles. You collapse in exhaustion. Did he prefer it? It’s unclear…till he smiles. You killed it, drummer boy.
Vampire Weekend launched their final album, Modern Vampires of the City, in 2013. We’re nonetheless ready for its follow-up, although it’s rumored to be out soon.
