Dua Lipa stars in the newly released music video for Pop Smoke‘s track, “Demeanor.” The pop singer is featured on the song, which appears on the late rappers second posthumously released album, Faith.
The medieval themed visual premiered on YouTube Thursday (July 29), and takes place during what appears to be a lavish castle dinner. A dove, which appears to represent Pop Smoke, is seen atop the master seat at the table. In the background is a moving painting of Pop Smoke.
The rapper opens the tune in the chorus, singing, “I’m feelin’ on your baba treesha/ Shorty said she like my demeanor/ And she look like a eater/ I’m off the Perky geekin’/ I’m feelin’ with your baba treesha/ Shorty said she like my demeanor/ And she look like a eater/ I’m off the Perky geekin.'”
He then begins the first verse rapping, “Fishbowl, send shots, bend blocks, send ’em back/ Earthquakes and ceiling cracks, all my n—-s into that/ You send a shot, we send it back, all facts, no cap/ Put my hat to the back, a hundred thousand in the bag/ Look, $11 a hour ain’t enough to live.”
Not long after, Dua Lipa chimes in and shows off her subtle dance skills in the video as she sings, “Female alpha and I practice what I preach, I devour/ Tell me, can you take the heat?/ You can touch with your eyes only/ I know you like what you see/ That ‘Je ne sais quoi’ energy/ Baby, get on your knees.”
Pop Smoke’s new album, Faith, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart earlier in July. His debut studio album, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, which dropped last year, is the longest running No. 1 hip-hop/R&B album since 1990.
The Brooklyn native, né Bashar Barakah Jackson, was killed on Feb. 19, 2020, at age 20. Ahead of his death, Smoke released the fan-favorite mixtapes Meet the Woo and Meet the Woo 2. The latter debuted on Feb. 7, 2020, just two weeks before Pop Smoke was fatally shot in a home invasion in Los Angeles.
