Watch BTS Master ‘Permission to Dance’ Choreography in New Rehearsal Video

BTS

How do BTS always have such tight dance moves? With lots of practice. The seven members of the world’s biggest K-pop group released a video Tuesday (July 13) of their choreography rehearsals for the “Permission to Dance” music video.

The new video features RM, Jin, J-Hope, V, Jung Kook, Jimin and Suga working hard to prep the “Permission to Dance” dance routine that would later be filmed officially in the music video. In what looks to be a cross between a black-painted basketball court and dance studio, the guys switched off between full-group choreography and solo member moments. And if you thought that they would opt for T-shirts and sweatpants rather than their usual glam outfits in a rehearsal setting, think again: All seven members look just as stylish as ever.

The behind-the-scenes video comes ahead of BTS’ “Permission to Dance” challenge, announced in a July 9 tweet. It was accompanied by a short video of the guys doing a few of their signature dance moves, which they called on their BTS ARMY to re-create for the challenge starting July 23 on YouTube Shorts.

With the release of “Permission to Dance,” BTS will likely be competing with themselves for the No. 1 spot atop the Billboard Hot 100 next week. Their May single has spent seven weeks leading the chart so far, but the group is confident their newest release, co-written by Ed Sheeran, will be the track to dethrone it. “After 6 weeks at #1 ‘Permission to Dance’ will take the spot and be first for 4 to 5 more weeks,” Suga said in a recent YouTube video.
