Weezer has unveiled the official music video for his or her cowl of Toto’s iconic “Africa,” starring Weird Al Yankovic as Rivers Cuomo.
“The blessings do not cease,” Weezer wrote within the feedback part of the YouTube video, which dropped on Monday (Sept. 24). The visible is a transparent callback to the one for “Undone – The Sweater Song,” Weezer’s first-ever music video. Towards the top of the video, Yankovic’s drummer runs across the drum set in the identical approach that Weezer’s Patrick Wilson does within the unique video.
After a fan’s persistent requests, Weezer determined to cowl “Africa” again in May, which grew to become their first hit on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart after a decade. Following the track’s launch, Toto lined Weezer’s “Hash Pipe,” to return the favor.
