When Andrea Bocelli sings, the whole world listens.
When the legendary tenor performed his Easter 2020 Music for Hope concert at Milan’s historic Duomo cathedral, during those strange early stages of the pandemic, his voice reverberated around the globe.
YouTube later confirmed the performance was the largest simultaneous audience for a classical live stream ever on its platform.
With a North America tour set to kick off Oct. 13 at Milwaukee’s Fiserve Forum, Bocelli stepped into the spotlight of The Tonight Show on Tuesday night (Aug. 24), for a rendition from his November 2020 album release Believe.
Performing at a grand piano, the Italian master delivered the opening track, the Rodgers and Hammerstein emotional classic (reinvented by Gerry and the Pacemakers) “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” a song with a rich history in English football, a deep connection to good causes, and the power to make those small hairs on your arms stand tall.
Watch below and walk on.
