Wagner Moura to play villain in ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ prequel
Wagner Moura, known for his standout performance in The Gray Man, is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of the highly anticipated Ocean’s Eleven prequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is being eyed for the lead antagonist role in the film, which already boasts a stellar lineup featuring Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper.
Plot details remain tightly under wraps. What is known is that the story will be set in the 1960s and is expected to center on the parents of Danny Ocean, the iconic character portrayed by George Clooney in the original trilogy. Previous reports from CinemaCon suggested the narrative might revolve around a high-stakes heist during the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.
The project has faced a turbulent development process. Initially slated for director Jay Roach, the reins were later passed to Lee Isaac Chung, who ultimately exited the production due to creative differences. Currently, Bradley Cooper is steering the project as both director and one of its principal stars.
