Valentino Khan to Become First DJ to Ever Perform At a WWE Event: ‘I’m Honored’

As a kid, Valentino Khan was fanatical about pro wrestling. “From growing up in the Attitude Era till now, I’ve been a fan all my life and truly have respect for the business,” the Los Angeles-based producer said in a statement.

Now, Khan is getting closer than ever to the WWE ring.

This Saturday (Aug. 21), Khan will become the first DJ to ever perform as part of a WWE event when he plays WWE SummerSlam. The wrestling organization’s biggest event of the year, SummerSlam will take place at Las Vegas’ recently opened Allegiant Stadium. Khan will perform a set as attendees arrive for the WWE’s first-ever event inside an NFL stadium.

“Anyone that knows me knows I’m obsessed with pro wrestling,” Khan tells Billboard. “The culture and the history both fascinate me. DJing at WWE SummerSlam is mind blowing to me. I’m honored to be part of a WWE event and connect the fans with my music.  I’m very excited for that weekend in Las Vegas, and promise I’ll make it a moment to remember.”

SummerSlam matches will feature WWE Superstars including current champions Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley, Nikki A.S.H., Bianca Belair and Sheamus, along with John Cena, Goldberg, Rhea Ripley and more.

SummerSlam will stream live on Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. ET exclusively on Peacock in the U.S., and WWE Network in all other territories.

Previous WWE musical guests include Bad Bunny, who performed at the Royal Rumble in January. He earned high praise from WWE stars including Triple H after taking part in a match during Wrestlemania in April.

“We strive to create a vibrant atmosphere at all WWE events and music plays a very important role whether it be at live events or throughout WWE programming,” Neil Lawi, WWE Music Group’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, says in a statement. “We’re looking forward to having Valentino Khan kick off the festivities at SummerSlam this Saturday.”
