Tony Bennett Extends His U.Okay. Chart Record

At 92 years younger, Tony Bennett continues to be breaking information. The veteran crooner’s newest set, a collaborative album with Diana Krall titled Love Is Here To Stay (Columbia/Verve), bowed at No. 33 on the newest Official U.Okay. Albums Chart, a feat that extends his document because the oldest male artist to crack the highest 40.

Bennett can be the oldest male artist to land a high 10 album, an achievement he set in 2014 when, on the age of 88, his album Cheek to Cheek (Interscope) with Lady Gaga hit No. 10.

While Bennett is in a category of his personal, he’s not the oldest artist to have charted inside the U.Okay. high 40. Dame Vera Lynn was 100 when her album, aptly named 100 (Decca), reached No. three on the albums chart in March 2017.
