In a recent interview with Esquire, actor Tom Holland shared his thoughts on who he believes would make a fitting successor to portray Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man.
According to Holland, rising star Owen Cooper, best known for his performance in the miniseries Coming of Age, would be an ideal candidate, noting that stepping into the iconic suit could serve as a spectacular springboard for the young actor’s career.
“It would be brilliant to see Owen Cooper take on the mantle. He is incredibly gifted and currently the talk of the town,”
Holland remarked. For his acclaimed work in Coming of Age, Cooper secured Emmy, BAFTA, and Golden Globe awards, becoming the youngest recipient in his category. His impressive portfolio also includes a role in Wuthering Heights.
Spider-Man: A Brand New Day, starring Holland, is set to hit theaters on July 31st. In the same interview, the actor confirmed that he and Zendaya are officially married. The pair will appear together in the upcoming Spider-Man film as well as Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey.
